At the CAPS Beat 814 meeting on February 11, it was
announced that the volunteer beat facilitator has quit, and that CPD is seeking a member of the community to step forward and volunteer to help organize and run the monthly meetings.

CAPS beat facilitators must live in the beat they facilitate. Beat 814 includes all city blocks from Cicero Avenue on the east to Central Avenue on the west, the Stevenson Expressway on the north to 55th Street on the south--so basically, eastern Garfield Ridge, Vittum Park and the Hearst area.

CPD typically looks for a person who:

• can help plan, organize and run a public meeting.
• has basic computer and smartphone skills.
• can attend monthly District Advisory Council meetings.
• is a team player who works well with police and a wide range of community residents.
• is kind, compassionate, fair to all, and honest.
• can help motivate others.

If that sounds like you, and you want to help make Beat 814 a better and safer place, send an email to Community.Affairs@ChicagoPolice.org or call (312) 745-5900.
