Chicago Police Department officials have announced the
Erick Ochoa
arrest of a 24-year-old Cicero man wanted in connection with the 2013 death of a three-year-old boy in the Archer Heights neighborhood.

Police said that Erick Ochoa, of the 1300 block of South 50th Avenue, was charged with one felony count of aggravated DUI/accident/death. He is due in Central Bond Court, 26th and California, on Tuesday, April 28.

Police said that Ochoa was behind the wheel of a vehicle that struck and killed the pre-schooler at about 10:20 p.m. July 20, 2013 in the 3900 block of West 47th Street. The toddler
"ran onto the street from between two parked cars and was struck by Ochoa," police said. The child was transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was later pronounced dead.

Ochoa was cited for the incident and "it was later determined through the course of the investigation that Ochoa was under the influence of a controlled substance," police said. "An investigative alert was issued, and Ochoa was stopped on a traffic violation on Sunday, April 26, 2015 and charged accordingly."

Police said they have no other details to share right now.
