The City of Chicago has quietly announced that it is hosting
"Seniors Only" COVID-19 vaccination events across the city for people over age 65.

Starting March 5 and ending March 14, there will be a handful of one-day, appointment-only events to vaccinate as many as 500 people at each event.

Several are for the Southwest Side:

• March 6 at Hale Park, for seniors who live in the 60638, 60632 and 60629 ZIP codes.

• March 13 at West Lawn Park, for seniors who live in 60629.

• (Date to be announced) in Brighton Park, for seniors in 60623, 60608, 60609, 60632.

No mention has been made of where seniors living in 60652 will be vaccinated.

Vaccines will be given in a two-step process. Seniors who sign up will be told when and where to go for the first and second doses.

Vaccinations will be given at no charge.

Click here and use this form to sign up seniors 65-plus in your neighborhood who are interested in getting their vaccine shot at a local event in their community. Seniors who have signed up will either receive a registration link to complete or a phone call to help them register, according to City officials.

Appointments are limited. No one is confirmed until they are registered with and receive a time for their appointment. There will be no on-site registration, and walk-ups will not be permitted.
