Claim man abused dog, was indecent in public
A 40-year-old Garfield Ridge man was charged with animal cruelty and public indecency after he was arrested outside at 5100 S. Central at 7:05 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 18. |

Brian Sanchez, of the 5100 block of South Major, "was identified as the offender who abused a dog on June 29, outside a residence in the 5100 block of South Major," a CPD spokesman told the Southwest Chicago Post. "The offender was also charged in connection two public indecency acts that occurred outside [the same residence]. On June 23, the offender engaged in sexual conduct while on the public way, and on June 25, when the offender was observed outside without any clothing."
Bust man on drunk driving rap
A 49-year-old Chrysler Village man was charged with DUI and illegally transporting open alcohol in a vehicle after he was arrested in front of 5324 S. McVicker at 3:23 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8. Krzysztof Dziedzina, of the 6400 block of South Lorel, also was cited for driving on the wrong side of the road, driving without insurance and failure to notify the Illinois Secretary of State’s Office of a change of home address.

A 43-year-old West Lawn man was charged with DUI and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident after he was arrested in front of 5513 S. Mason at 9:27 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9.
Carlos Reyes, of the 5900 block of South Kostner, crashed his vehicle into a CFD ambulance, a CPD spokesman said. He also was cited for failure to notify the Illinois Secretary of State’s Office of a change of home address.
Claim woman made threat with gun
A 33-year-old Englewood woman was charged with aggravated assault after she was arrested at 5440 S. Central at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14. |
Wilson |
Alisha Wilson, of the 5800 block of South Union, also was charged with violating the Concealed Carry Act. A CPD spokesman said Wilson, while driving her vehicle waved a handgun at another motorist during an argument.
Say man grabbed elderly woman
A 57-year-old Garfield Ridge man was charged with domestic battery after he was arrested at his in the 5800 block of South Neva at 4:16 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17. |
McDonough |
Michael C. McDonough allegedly grabbed the arm of an 82-year-old woman during an argument over money, a CPD spokesman said.
According to public records, McDonough has been arrested five times by CPD since 2018 on such charges as theft and various traffic-related violations.
Bust suburban man for fleeing
A 35-year-old man from suburban Hillside was charged with drinking alcohol on the public way, as well as aggravated fleeing, after he was arrested near 59th and Neva at 4:12 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25. |

Deonte E. Harshaw also was cited for running a stop sign and using an alley as a thru-way. A CPD spokesman said police on patrol became aware of Harshaw when they spotted him urinating on a garbage cart.
According to public records, Harshaw has been arrested six times by CPD since 2014 on such charges as driving on a suspended license, criminal trespass to a vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle, aggravated battery of a police officer and unlawful use of a weapon by a convicted felon.
Traffic stop leads to charges
A 42-year-old man from suburban Berwyn was charged with driving on a license expired for than a year after his vehicle was curbed by police in front of 6434 W. Archer at 4:32 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25. |

Richard Barajar, of the 3000 block of South Wisconsin, also was charged with cannabis possession and driving an unregistered vehicle. A CPD spokesman said Barajar was stopped by police who noticed that one of his brake lights was out.

A 36-year-old woman from suburban Blue Island was charged with driving a vehicle with falsified license plates after she was arrested in front of 6844 W. Archer at 6:53 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29.
Briana J. Hunt, of the 2000 block of West 119th Place, also was cited for driving on a suspended license.
He said he’d kick me, cashier says
A 27-year-old Virginia man was charged with assault after he was arrested in front of 6601 W. Archer at 5:55 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 31. Aidan J. Mallet allegedly threatened to kick a 26-year-old male cashier at the 7-Eleven at Archer and Nashville, a CPD spokesman said.

A 40-year-old Clearing man was charged with aggravated assault after he was arrested at his home in the 6100 block of West 63rd Place at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15.
Steve A. Cruz allegedly brandished a gun at a 26-year-old woman during an argument, a CPD spokesman said.
According to public records, Cruz was arrested by CPD in June 2014 and charged with domestic battery.
Say woman was porch pirate
A 45-year-old woman was charged with theft after she was arrested in front of 6604 W. 63rd St. at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15. |
Chierico |
Tina A. Chierico allegedly stole two packages from the front porch of a home in the 6700 block of West 63rd Street, a CPD spokesman said. She also was charged with possession of a controlled substance, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia. The spokesman said police found a glass smoking pipe tucked in Chierico’s left sock.
According to public records, Chierico has been arrested six times by CPD since 2017 on charges that included soliciting for a ride on a roadway and prostitution.

A 63-year-old Scottsdale man was charged with violating an order of protection after he was arrested in the 6300 block of West 65th Street at 9:29 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28.
David Brian Sparks, of the 8100 block of South Karlov, allegedly tried to make contact with a 30-year-old woman, in violation of a judge’s order.

Luis M. Berumen allegedly pushed a 35-year-old woman to the floor during an argument, a CPD spokesman said.
According to public records, Berumen was arrested near 15th and Central Park in August 2023 and charged with reckless driving.

A 38-year-old Garfield Ridge woman was charged with misdemeanor assault after she was arrested at 5:44 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 3 at her home in the 6300 block of South Archer. |

Tywanna A. Peate allegedly threatened to shoot two neighbor women: ages 29 and 31, over an argument relating to a dog.
According to public records, Peate was arrested by CPD in March 2014 on the Chicago Skyway and charged with DUI and driving the wrong way on a divided highway.

A 33-year-old Clearing man was charged with domestic battery after he was arrested at his home in the 5900 block of South Major at 9:25 p.m. Thursday, July 24.
Jose M. Landa Salgado allegedly slapped the face of a 27-year-old woman during an argument.

A 25-year-old Englewood man was charged with violating an order of protection after he was arrested near a residence in the 6300 block of West 65th Street at 1:20 a.m. Friday, July 25.
Yancarlos C. Arbujas, of the 1400 block of West 69th Street, allegedly made contact with a 21-year-old woman, in violation of a court order.
Allegedly hit her, broke her phone

A 28-year-old Clearing man was charged with domestic battery after he was arrested at his home in the 5800 block of West 62nd Street at 11:40 p.m. Sunday, July 27.
Robert J. Halloran allegedly struck a 24-year-old woman in the back of the head during an argument. A charge of criminal damage to property was added after Halloran allegedly broke the woman’s cellphone.

Wescott |
Gabriel R. Wescott allegedly grabbed a 42-year-old woman by the neck and bit her finger during an argument, a CPD spokesman said.
According to public records, Wescott was arrested by CPD near 55th and Pulaski in February 2014 and charged with failure to appear in court.

Bust Oak Park man on traffic, vehicle charges

A 22-year-old man from suburban Oak Park was charged with driving on a suspended license and transporting open alcohol in a vehicle after he was arrested during a traffic stop in front of 6343 S. Keating at 8:26 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2.
Breyner M. Meneses, of the 100 block of North Austin, also was charged with driving the wrong way down a one-way street and driving a vehicle with expired registration.
No flight for man wanted on warrant
A 36-year-old man from suburban Homewood was charged with being a fugitive from justice after he was arrested before trying to board a passenger jet at Midway Airport at 10:35 a.m. Monday, Aug. 4. |

Devin Alexander Threets was blocked from boarding the flight after it was learned he was wanted on a warrant out of Wisconsin, a CPD spokesman said.
According to public records, Threets was arrested by CPD in March 2015 near 61st and Pulaski and charged with unlawful use of a weapon by a convicted felon, as well as forgery.

Parole check leads to gun, drugs bust

A 21-year-old West Lawn man was charged with unlawful use of a weapon/machine gun, possession of a laser gunsight, possession of a large amount of cocaine and possession of a large amount of cannabis after he was arrested at his home in the 6200 block of South Komensky at 7:50 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6.

According to public records, Sandoval has been arrested four times by CPD since 2022 on such charges as gang loitering, criminal trespass to land and illegal possession of cannabis.
According to public records, Ibarra was arrested by CPD at Madison and Pulaski in February 2020 and charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
Convicted sex offender busted on Cicero

A 55-year-old Hearst area man was charged with failure to register as a sex offender after he was arrested on the street in front of 4800 S. Cicero at 10:55 p.m. Sunday, July 27.
Leon Cole, of the 4600 block of South La Crosse, also was charged with possession of a controlled substance.
According to public records, when Cole was 26 years old, he had sex with a 15-year-old girl.
