Sheriff Busts 'Deadbeat Dad' at 56th/Kolin

Here's a press release just put out by the Cook County Sheriff's Office:

Louis J. Palomino Jr.
Cook County Sheriff Thomas J. Dart announced today that the department’s Central Warrant Unit officers arrested a Chicago man who owes nearly $80,000 in past-due child support.

Sheriff’s Central Warrant Unit officers arrested Louis J. Palomino Jr., 55, Thursday morning after receiving a tip that he lived at an apartment in the 5600 block of South Kolin Avenue in Chicago.

He remains at Cook County Jail in lieu of a $500 bond. His next court date is scheduled for April 1 at the Daley Center.

The warrant was issued in 1999 for failure to make a scheduled court appearance in his child support case.

Palomino last made a child support payment in 2004. He owes $79,687 in past due child support payments for three children.

The Sheriff’s Central Warrants Unit handles warrants for child support, the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, police fugitives and electronic monitoring fugitives.
