Hunter Helson Brings Glory to Kennedy

Congratulations to Kennedy High School wrestler Hunter
Helson.

Though just a sophomore, Hunter recently made it all the way through the IHSA playoffs to the state finals last month in Champaign, before he was eliminated.

A Garfield Ridge resident, Hunter is the youngest grappler in school history to make it to the state finals--and only the third wrestler in Kennedy history to do so.

According to Crusaders wrestling coach DeAndre Mosley, Helson started wrestling at age 5, grappling for various athletic clubs before coming to the high school.

Coincidentally, Helson's grandfather, Don Kapolka, wrestled for Kennedy in the 1960s. Way to go, Hunter!
