Lipinski, Health Experts to Talk About COVID-19; Invite Public to Participate



To help provide answers to questions about the new coronavirus (COVID-19), Congressman Dan Lipinski (D-3rd) has pulled together several health experts for a "telephone town hall" event set for 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 14.

Congressman Lipinski will discuss the latest legislative efforts in Washington, including measures to provide funding for coronavirus testing.

The healthcare experts from Northwestern University, the University of Chicago and the Cook County Department of Public Health will provide an update on local efforts underway and steps the public can take to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

Those experts are:

• Dr. Robert Murphy, Director of the Center for Global Communicable Diseases, Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.

•  Jeff Murphy, DNP, RN, NE-BC, Executive Director of Emergency and Trauma Services, University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine.

• Dr. Kiran Joshi, Senior Medical Officer for the Cook County Department of Public Health.


• Molly Jo Lamb, Deputy Director of the Office of Health Protection with the Illinois Department of Public Health.

Callers will be able to ask questions of the panel.
